Time: Emergences will occur every night during spring and summer, normally within 30 minutes before sundown, in hot, dry weather, but up to 40 minutes after in cooler, damp weather.

Congress Avenue Bridge provides an accessible yet exhilarating bat-watching experience. Here, around 1.5 million bats emerge each evening from late March through October.
You can view from above the bridge or even book a boat tour to enjoy this amazing experience without disturbing the bats being bats.

USS Lexington has long been known for its paranormal activity, from eerie creaks and clanks and missing things to encounters with otherworldly beings. We invite the public to an overnight experience like no other at the USS Lexington Museum, where you will have the chance to hunt for the supernatural. This overnight investigation is open to anyone who is curious about the paranormal.
The exploration begins as you are taken on a tour of six different sectors or “hot spots” on the ship, where you will hear the stories of “Charlie” and others, exactly where they took place. Overnight guests will be provided a berthing (sleeping) compartment, continental breakfast, and the opportunity to tour the ship in the light of day, the next day.

Explore Galveston’s Haunted History Aboard SEAGULL II
Step aboard Galveston Historical Foundation’s SEAGULL II for the original Haunted Harbor Tour through Galveston Bay. Led by Galveston History guides, guests will learn about the haunted history of the island’s historic waters.
The 90-minute tour, first started in 2007, features historically accurate accounts researched by Galveston Historical Foundation staff.

A Spirited Sip and Stroll of Historic Downtown Galveston
Led by Galveston History staff, discover the darker side of Galveston’s Historic Strand District on a spirited walking tour filled with eerie stories, strange encounters, and very real history.
Beginning in front of the historic 1859 Hendley Building, guests will stroll through downtown while hearing factual tales of haunted happenings, unexplained events, and the people whose stories still linger among the district’s historic buildings.

Learn the fundamentals of proper cemetery preservation during this hands-on workshop at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Set against a historic Nicholas Clayton-designed family vault, the class will offer a practical introduction to caring for and maintaining headstones, monuments, and other historic masonry.
Led by Galveston History staff, participants will learn the dos and don’ts of cleaning, when and how to use limewash, and how to identify common drainage issues that can affect historic stonework. While the techniques are especially useful for cemetery preservation, many of the same principles can also be applied to historic masonry and maintenance projects at home.
Please note: Calvary Cemetery is located on Galveston Island between 61st Street and 65th Street. The entrance is located on 65th Street.

It’s just a bunch of hocus pocus… or is it?
Hocus Pocus Pops is your Halloween night at The Pavilion — packed with music, costumes, candy and just the right amount of mischief.
Join the Houston Symphony for a family-friendly concert full of spooky favorites, playful surprises and magical moments that bring the spirit of Halloween to life.
Come dressed in your best costume — witches, skeletons, superheroes, Sanderson Sisters and everything in between are all welcome. Before the concert, explore the plazas for trick-or-treating, activities and festive fun that make this a full evening experience for all ages. It’s not too scary, never too serious and always a good time.
So grab your crew, bring your costumes and get ready for a Halloween celebration that hits all the right notes.

Princesses, pirates, ghosts and goblins are invited to don their costumes and enjoy a spooktacular celebration at the annual Trick or Treat Trail featuring Monster Mash at the Rob Fleming Recreation Center.
While at the event, children have the opportunity to trick or treat from booth to booth and fill their bags with goodies from local vendors.
The FREE event also includes strolling entertainment, carnival games, costume contests, photo areas, food trucks and more!

Celebrate a greener Halloween with The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department at our fourth annual Pumpkin Smash! Join us Sunday, November 1, from 2pm to 5pm at the Sterling Ridge Park and Ride for an afternoon of pumpkin-smashing fun.
Each year, Americans toss more than a billion pounds of pumpkins into landfills. Instead of sending your Halloween pumpkins to the trash, bring them to our event and give them a second life as compost.
Smash It, Don’t Trash It!
Pick your favorite way to smash: Send your pumpkin flying with our catapult, break it apart with a bat, or watch it burst from a 30-foot drop. Our team will be there to make sure everyone stays safe and has a great time. Ghoulish pumpkin remains will be turned into nutrient-rich compost for local gardens, keeping food waste out of the landfill.
Bark-or-Treat

Join us for a morning filled with treats, costumes, community, and plenty of wagging tails. All friendly furry companions are welcome, Bark-or-Treat promises a pawsitively unforgettable Halloween celebration for the whole family.
This trunk-or-treat-style event is the perfect opportunity to dress up your pup, meet fellow dog lovers, and enjoy a morning of festive fun.
Inspired by the success of our popular Doggie Egg Hunt, Bark-or-Treat invites dogs to explore both the large and small dog parks, where treat stations will be set up throughout the parks for pups to collect goodies along the way. Thanks to our presenting sponsor, Natural Pawz, every stop will be filled with delicious treats for your furry companion.
Before or after making your rounds through the dog park, be sure to visit our vendor area located just outside the park near the event check-in, where puppucinos will be provided. Local pet-friendly businesses, veterinarians, animal shelters, housing communities, and other dog-focused organizations will be on hand to share resources, products, services, and giveaways for pets.
Think your pup has the best Halloween costume? Enter our Dog Costume Contest for a chance to win a trophy chew toy and the coveted title of Best Dressed Dog. From superheroes and pumpkins to pirates and princesses, we can’t wait to see the creativity on display!

Grab the family, put on your Halloween costumes, and join us for a Spooktacular 2nd Saturday on Oct. 10 at the Tomball Depot Plaza!
We’ve got a fun-filled evening planned with festive games, bounce houses, face painting, crafts, local vendors, and spooky surprises for everyone.
The festivities kick off at 4:00 p.m., but when dusk falls at about 7:00 p.m., we’ll gather at the Depot for a special screening of “Wicked”.
Admission and parking are free, so bring your chairs, blankets, and snacks and enjoy a night of family fun!
