Our Approach
Personalized
We use a multi-layered approach! Implementing a multifaceted approach and incorporating both the Sewciety Kids® & Kids Can Sew® curricula in our studio, allows us to offer projects that appeal to today’s modern kids; and that contain enough content for students to continue along in our program for at least four years without ever making the same project twice!
Comprehensive
From basic lingo and terminology to advanced skill & techniques and everything in between, our classes cover all aspects of sewing and quilting! We provide weekly instruction along with opportunities to attend more in-depth day camps, exclusive workshops, and even regular sew-ins!
Adaptive
Lessons evolve as the students do. No two lessons will be the same, and teaching methods change as goals grow – leaving room to pivot teaching styles to each student’s learning needs. Private – 1 on 1 lessons are available as well!
Interactive
Students are engaged and working on projects actively for the duration of each class. The variety and quality of the projects keep them interested and coming back for more.
- Low student-to-teacher ratio
 - Multiple class times available
 - Online enrollment options
 - Private 1:1 lessons available
 - Weekend & evening classes!

Sewing Summer Camp
Each week go on a themed journey with us through fiber & textile-based arts… all summer long!
From June through August, each week is an opportunity for a 3-day immersive sewing & quilting camp! Choose one week or multiple weeks! That’s 12 weeks of creative opportunity for your child to explore and submerse themselves into the world of fiber and textile arts!
With a huge selection of projects to choose from, kids can come for multiple weeks without making the same project twice.
Campers with no previous experience will spend the first day of each camp week learning (or refreshing their knowledge!) to use a sewing machine.
Duration: 3 hours. Meals: Snacks & light refreshments served. All project materials (fabric, thread, etc.) are included in the cost of camp.
Plus… at the end of camp, take home your classroom Necchi K408A!*
Choose between Morning Camp (9am – Noon) or Afternoon Camp (1pm – 4pm).

The Sewcial Box After School & Homeschool Program
This is a six-week session of classes for students at all stages of our curriculum (Levels 1 through 4), including brand new students. Students may begin our program at age 7.
The Sewcial Box by PLKC is a licensed member of the Sewciety Kids program as well as Kids Can Sew. Depending upon age and comprehension, we may or may not use both programs in conjunction with our classes.
In the Sewciety Kids Sewing Program, students will work through a specific sequence of projects designed to develop their sewing ability.
Students will explore the whole world of sewing as they learn garment making, bag making, patchwork, embroidery, applique and more! They’ll work with many different types of fabric and learn how to choose appropriate fabric for a project.
As students progress through the program, they will build upon their skills by tackling more difficult and more detailed projects. In each six-week session students typically make two projects – one decor/accessory type item and one garment.  Six-week sessions continue in succession, year-round.
* Beginner Workshop required before registration.
Fun w/Felt Fridays at The Sewcial Box
A class any “sewist” in the making will be sure to love! Come make a mini felt project and take it home! Learn the basics of hand sewing that can be applied to many different future projects.
This class is a great option for children who are younger and even those may not be ready for the machine – or who want to learn but aren’t yet interested in the machine.
No prior sewing skills required! Class is approximately 60 minutes.
*Suitable for ages 5 & up. Must be able to sit and follow directions.
Second Saturday SEWcial at The Sewcial Box
