Summer Fun At The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts!
The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts has another fantastic summer planned for 2026, with fun for all ages!
Chromatica
Chromatica: A World in Color explores the universal language of color. Drawing from multiple artists and loaned collections from Museum of the Red River and the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art, this group exhibition brings together artworks and culturally significant objects that highlight how color conveys symbolism, identity, and emotion across different societies and periods.
By presenting color as both a visual element and a cultural lens, Chromatica invites viewers to consider how pigments, materials, and meanings have circulated through time, revealing unexpected connections between art, history, and human creativity.
Fragments, Remnants, and Remains
On View in the Cole Gallery June 13 – September 5
In the Cole Gallery, artist Curtis Gannon will present, “Fragments, Remnants, and Remains.” Gannon’s collage imagery is grounded in a childhood love of comic books and animation. His studio practice begins with small collages that form the basis for drawings, paintings, and sculpture, recreating memories and feelings that reflect his experiences.
Shed and Sutured
On View in the Community Gallery June 13 – July 18
In the Community Gallery, artist Shelby Craze will present, “Shed and Sutured”. Craze is an interdisciplinary artist exploring the intersection of fiber and the body. Through her work, she investigates the intersection between the human body and the fibrous vessels that contain us throughout our lives, vessels that are contoured by use, weathered by time, and worthy of transformative care and preservation.
Don’t miss this Summer at the Pearl!
- Summer Art Camps (ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 13.) Each week features a different theme as children discover artistic processes, learn from guest artists, and spend time in the museum galleries. Registration required.
- Art Start- Pre-school-aged children up to age 5.
The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts’ Art Start program offers young children an engaging introduction to visual learning and creative expression.
Through weekly sessions that combine story time with a related art activity, preschoolers build visual literacy, spark their imagination, and develop a deeper appreciation for art skills that support confidence and future academic success.
The program also nurtures social and emotional growth. With small classes capped at 10 children, participants receive individualized attention in a warm, supportive setting that encourages communication, cooperation, and respect.
Family involvement is required, giving parents and caregivers the chance to support their child’s creative development. Overall, Art Start provides a strong foundation for early learning, social connection, and creative growth. Registration required.
Located at 6815 Cypresswood Drive in Spring, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Admission is free. Donations and membership support help continue the Pearl’s mission of art, education, and community.
