Houston Energy Day Festival

Houston Energy Day Festival is a FREE Family STEM Festival for Kids of All Ages!

Houston’s Energy Day Festival will be in full swing on Saturday, October 17th from 11am to 3pm at Sam Houston Park in downtown Houston.

This year marks the Festival’s 15th year of bringing Houston-area K-12 students, teachers, and families together with Houston’s leading companies for a day of Energizing STEM – showing students the fun side of STEM and the exciting career opportunities in energy and energy-related industries.

The festival focuses on efficiency & conservation while providing opportunities for students to interact with energy & STEM experts to help spark their interest in these careers.

Energy Day connects students, families, and educators through hands-on STEM experiences while expanding access for Houston-area schools through transportation support. Since 2011, nearly $200,000 has been awarded through the Energy Day Academic Program to support student achievement in STEM.

Discover how the sun can be used to power cool gadgets. You can experiment with solar panels and see how sunlight gets turned into energy. It’s like turning sunshine into superpowers!

Stay Cool, It’s A Gas

Be part of the action as we discover how gases can transform into a liquid in one of the most captivating shows you’ll ever see. See roses, graham crackers, and marshmallows turn into ice right in front of your eyes.

Slime Lab

Who doesn’t love slime? Learn the science behind making slime and create your own gooey, stretchy masterpiece. It’s a messy and fun way to learn about chemistry!

Wind Power Wonders

Learn how wind can be used to make electricity. Build your own windmill and watch it spin as it catches the breeze. It’s a great way to learn about renewable energy!

Drilling Down

Drill down into the world of oil and gas and learn about different types of rock formations that are right under our feet. Experience what it’s like to drill through various geologic conditions like a professional geologist.
