Children’s Poems and Illustrations Books by Peter J. Lyndt

I was lucky to grow up in a home filled with art. My dad was an artist, so creativity was part of everyday life. By the time I was six, I was already painting with oils on canvas at my very own easel—feeling like a little grown-up artist! Whether I had a pencil, paintbrush, or book in hand, I was always exploring something creative.

As a kid, I started making my own comic books, which sparked my love for both writing and illustrating. That eventually led to designing my own Valentine’s cards—each one with an original poem straight from the heart.

Now, more than sixty years later, I’ve published two children’s books filled with poetry and illustrations, along with six books of “painted poetry” reflecting on life and love.

I’d love for you to come along on this creative journey. Maybe one of my poems, drawings, or stories will spark something special in you—bringing back memories of your own unique, imaginative, and beautifully artistic life. Enjoy!

Buckhorn Farm

Where Goats Graze & Gather…and Farm Friends Frolic

Tucked away on a few hundred acres of rolling countryside, Buckhorn Farm is a wonderland of green woods, blooming meadows, sparkling ponds, and even a river that winds right through the heart of it. It’s a place where nature hums and life is always in motion.

Here, goats graze lazily in sun-drenched fields, chickens and roosters strut and peck, birds sing from the trees, butterflies drift like petals on the breeze, and bumble bees dance from flower to flower. The farm’s loyal dogs keep a watchful eye over the playful crew—critters who love to run, splash in the ponds, and stir up mischief from dawn to dusk.

Every turn of the page introduces a new farm friend through whimsical poems and charming illustrations, like Squeaky the squirrel seems to sense a snack in store. She always shouts for seconds. “Something in a shell would be swell!” Scrumptious (page 15).

Come along and explore the magic of Buckhorn Farm—where every critter has a story, and every story comes to life in rhyme and color.

Cat Within The Habitat!

A Collection of Tails…

Step into the whimsical world of whiskers, purrs, and playful paws! The Cat Within the Habitat invites you on a light-hearted journey through the lives of curious cats who always seem to know a little more than they let on—and aren’t afraid to share a giggle or two along the way.

Each page turn brings a fresh feline face, revealed through a delightful mix of short stories, poems, puns, and even a dash of cat history! Paired with charming illustrations, every “tail” paints a picture of life through the eyes of our favorite furry philosophers like Little Peggy and Tumbleweed, lounging among flowered seed. With nothing to want and plenty to feed, their peaceful world is the stuff of fairy tales—indeed! (Page 29)

So brush away those stray cat hairs, get cozy, and curl up with this collection of grins, giggles, and gentle purrs.
