March 2016 E-Blast

Story from the front:quote
Our story this month is about great success with just a bit of a twist. Toni Christopher with Camp Allen, an advertiser for over 16 years, recently sent us an accolade. It read, in synopsis, that we were "one of the most effective forms of advertising...that they do for their summer camps." She then spoke of our wide spread and targeted distribution and the extraordinary level of customer service that we have offered up over the years. But what struck me was her comment...and I quote..."we have grown our family programs to a point that we don't have to run ads for some of those events anymore due to repeat customers...so we can now focus our advertising dollars on newer, smaller programs that we normally would not be able to advertise." So we at The KD have done precisely what we intended: helped Camp Allen build a solid foundation of business upon which they have prospered and grown and expanded. That's what we try to do for all of our advertisers...help them create a level of success so that they too can grow and expand. So...while Camp Allen may spend a little less in advertising dollars with The Kid's Directory supporting some of their family programs, we are now part of their continued growth and expansion...and oh, the stories that Toni and her staff will tell about us will do nothing but send more business our way. Everybody wins!!

The Biggest Big Bang for your Buck that The KD
has EVER OFFERED---EVER!
crowd2
We've never before had a month like what's about to explode in front of us! Never...Ever!! This April, The Kid's Directory is sponsoring and/or participating in 11...count em...eleven different events occupying every week-end throughout the month. The total number of moms and dads and kids at these events should top 150,000 folks!! This is huge...easily twice as big as any other 'big bang' month we've ever done. That distills down to a huge over-print so that The KD will have enough books to hand out to the throngs of families at these various events. And every one of our advertisers will be there enjoying this tremendous surge in our circulation. The good news; it won't cost our advertisers one cent more than our standard ad rates. And more: some of the events listed below include the opportunity for our advertisers to actually attend and join The KD staff in our activity tent.

  • Grand Kid's Festival: Galveston, April 2, 2016...15,000 expected attendance. A wonderful family event in the historic downtown district.
  • The Nurture Nature Festival: Baytown, April 9, 2016...2,500 expected attendance. A free family event of exploration and wonder at the Baytown Nature Center.
  • Easter Seals of Greater Houston: April 9, 2016...5,000 expected attendance. Family Walk at the Houston Zoo.
  • Fort Bend Fine Arts Festival & Parade and Katy Summer Fest: April 16, 2016...3,500 expected attendance. Our second year attending this event. It is a good family event with great demographics.
  • Pasadena I.S.D. Health Fair: April 19, 2016....no notion as to how many will attend. This is a small local event.
  • The McDonald's Houston Children's Festival Benefiting Child Advocates, Inc: April 23 &24, 2016....65,000 expected attendance. It is the largest and best family event in the USA. Set in the middle of downtown Houston.
  • City of Bellaire Family and Safety Day: April 23, 2016...1,500 expected attendance. Local event sponsored by the Bellaire Fire Dept.
  • March of Dimes/March for Babies: April 24, 2016...40,000 expected attendance. A march for the health of our children at The University of Houston.
  • March of Dimes/March for Babies: April 23, 2016...10,000 expected attendance. Same walk different place...The Woodlands.
  • Coto Kid's Fest: April 30, 2016...750 expected attendance. Lots of activities, sports and games. Will be held in Cypress, Texas.
  • Conroe Kidzfest: April 30, 2016...15,000 expected attendance. A free event for the whole family in downtown Conroe.

For more information on all of these events and guidance as to how you too might be able to participate, got to our website (www.kids-houston.com) and click on the "Sponsored Events" banner.

March events have gone well and May events look promising, but nothing has or likely ever will compare to all the goings on that we have next month in April. I can't think of a reason why any of you folks out there would miss out on such an opportunity!!

COME PLAY WITH US
We will have our staff at 3 of the events listed above: The McDonald's Houston Children's Festival benefiting Child Advocates, Inc. right in the middle of downtown Houston, The Fort Bend Arts Festival and Parade and the Katy Summerfest, and Coto Kid's Fest in Cypress. The first of these is the single largest family event in the country. Now in our 25th year of sponsorship, The KD will have our own area called the Family Fun Zone replete with all sorts of interactive activities for the kids, a stage with a wide variety of performances to entertain, and bunches of volunteers--that could be you--handing out The Kid's Directories and 'goodie bags' containing all kinds of information that our advertisers have asked us to distribute and/or helping with any number of interactive activities we have organized for the kiddos. And then there's also the interface with all sorts of perspective customers. It's not only a lot of fun for everybody involved, it's also one heck of a business opportunity for our advertisers.

Think too of performing. We are looking to our advertisers to show off their stuff to the crowds at The McDonald's Children's Festival Benefiting Child Advocates Inc.. So if you've got a notion as to how you might use our stage to promote your business and/or the talents of your kids, give us a call or go to our website and click on the "Sponsored Events" banner.crowd

The other two events where we invite our advertisers to have a presence along with our staff are more local in their reach and therefore serve a more local clientele. Good and effective events nonetheless with excellent demographics. So if your business would benefit from this more localized reach, then give us a call and we will welcome you with open arms. It's all a Win Win....
