Flat rocks, gravel paths, trees and tall bushes provide basking spots for butterflies to warm up in the sunshine. A flagstone path through the garden provides the perfect wake-up spot for your butterflies!

Moisture
Butterflies feed on nectar and moisture.  Puddle edges and moist dirt are popular because the soil contains minerals that a butterfly need. Maintain a small wet spot in a sunny area.

Flowers
Nectar provides adult butterflies with food and encourages them to stay in your yard. Flowering trees, vines, annuals and perennials provide all the food necessary. Plant sun-loving plants for the best turnout, bright colors are best!

Caterpillar Food
Adult butterflies are attracted to yards that contain host plants for their offspring. The butterfly lays an egg on the host plant which the caterpillar eats when it hatches. Include host plants and grow your own butterflies!
